I love beef jerky, always have, from the first time I can remember really getting down on it as a kid in the Scouts. I look forward to road trips because I get to eat all the CornNuts and beef jerky my body will tolerate!
As I mentioned in my review of the Nesco FD-75a Snackmaster Pro dehydrator, I’ve been able to make my own jerky and am well on my way to perfecting my own take on this timeless treat. I started out using the recipe and seasoning packets that came with the dehydrator and then started my quest to learn everything I could about homemade jerky.
One of my favorite sites for inspiration is Jerkyholic created by Will Wagner. In fact, his article, “The Best Dehydrator For Making Beef Jerky“, is exactly where I started when I decided I wanted a dehydrator. He is constantly coming up with new recipes, and recently published a recipe book, so keep that site handy.
I hope some of my recipes are helpful to you. Feel free to submit your own ideas and recipes to share!
